Summit Professional SBC500B Beer Dispenser Review

I bought this item a month ago and it has worked fantastic. Already tapped my fourth keg. Wheels mean that it's easily moved. This is comparable to the Sanyo version (made at the same plant) just labeled with a Summit Tag. Sanyo products are also dependable.
I question the numbers in the description. The C02 should be "12" to "14" instead of "10". The temperature should be 36 - 38 degrees. Sam Adams recommends 38 degrees which is colder than anything that you can find in a bar. Since the gauge isn't percise, flirting with 32 degrees sounds appealing but you could run into problems with ice chips, frozen keg or wild keg (too foamy).
If possible, upgrade the CO2 gauge. The one provided is a single gauge, which shows the pressure on the keg. A double gauge would also provide you with whats left in the CO2 tank. The single guage works fine if you are on a budget. I'll upgrade later.

Danby DKC645BLS 5.8-Cu.Ft. Designer Beer Keg Cooler, Black/Stainless Review

Out of the box, this unit will not function correctly.You will have serious problems with foaming beer because of 3 defects.

1. Temperature regulator does not sense liquid temperature.It is also located too close to the cooling plate and needs to be moved further away to get a more accurate reading.

2. The tower does not flow cool air and ambient temperature inside is much higher than it needs to be

3. The spigot is also non-conventional and doesnt encourage an even flow

As far as I know, mine doesnt make any noises at all so I'm not sure what the other review is referring to or if they have a unit that isnt working correctly.

All of the above problems can be corrected.

Temperature -

a) Purchase a new regulator and bypass danby's.
b) Move the sensor away from its current position and put it in water to get a more accurate "liquid" reading.

Tower - Install a small fan to circulate air into the tower

Spigot - Replace with a standard one

EdgeStar Black Draft Beer Dispenser Kegerator Cooler Review

I bought this as my first Kegerator, it came fairly quickly "about a week earlier than they had estimated". Setup was fairly simple, but had a few kinks. I had to reseat the tower hosing on the plastic ring it was mounted on as it was crooked, and the tap handle was missing. I was'nt very angry with the missing handle what I did was going to a local store and bought a "Shift Knob" that was really nice for my handle. The system came with the empty tank and the gauges I needed, I had to search alittle for a place that would fill that tank. When I did find a place to fill it it only cost about 15 bucks. so 25 bucks later I had a functioning kegerator. Overall I am very happy, who would'nt when they can have a nice cold draft at home?

We purchased this fridge for our staff meetings to keep drinks cold.So far it has been just great!It came much sooner than expected and it came with out any damage.The packaging could have been better, however, it did come in great shape.I would recommend this product.Great buy!

Full Size Single Tap Kegerator Refrigerator Review

I was looking for an inexpensive kegerator and didn't give this unit much of a look because there were several unflattering reviews on various sites.The major complaints seemed to be:

1)The unit would not go below the low 40's
2)The package included a single guage regulator

However, there are various forums that gave detailed instructions on how to get around these limitations.First, the thermostat can be removed and with the turn of a screw the temperature can easily be lowered into the 30's.Second, a dual gauge regulator can be purchased and installed for about $50.I am hardly the handiest guy in the world but I had no problems doing this.

I've owned this unit for about 2 weeks now and with these modifications I'm now enjoying ice-cold beer.I base my rating on quality of the unit for the price that I paid for it.I also took the time to document my experiences with the unit - I hope this proves useful to someone that either owns one or is thinking of buying one.
