I've had one of these for two and a half years. It's worked very well considering that it's been running continuously for that entire time.Well, it died today and I'm planning on buying another. If you're thinking, "but it died after only two and half years" consider that it's been under a desk for the entire time, running non-stop. Also consider that my wife has the same model which has been running continuously for over five years. It just plain works. Running continously, it does have to be "defrosted" every two weeks or so. Simply turn the unit off for five or ten minutes and pull the ice off of the cooling platter. It's really no big deal. It's also rather quiet with just a small vent fan.
It can be used as a stand up or on its side as a chest (which is what I did). On it's side it'll hold a six pack of drinks.
