Not much to say here.This is what you get when your catridges need replacing on your AP-DWS1000 Drinking Water System.Our AquaPure just stopped working one day; the water wouldn't flow out.It's because we hit the 625 gallon limit.So, that's the "clear indication" you need to buy the new cartridges.When you replace the old ones, be sure to have a mixing bowl or bucket to catch the water that will spill out.I checked with company (which is owned by 3M).Unfortunately the old cartridges cannot be recycled at this time.What a waste!That's why I deducted one star.

Anyway, putting in the replacements is pretty easy: turn off the water supply, lift up the plastic cap, and remove the old catridges.There is an order to re-installing them, so pay attention to cartridge #1 versus #2.Then spin the little dial to give you 625 more gallons of filtered water.

I purchased these instead of the GE WMF filter because the GE's were SOOO expensive. This is the first time I've purchased something other than GE filters. They work just fine. One thing I would say, though, is make sure you turn the water off to the frig before you change the filter. My husband didn't do that and we had a flood in the frig.

6 PACK Frigidaire WF1CB Replacement Filters by Water Sentinel Review

I bought a 6 pack of these Frigidaire water filters so I would have enough to last 2-3 years.
They can be used for approximately 6 months before needed replacement. I did notice that the
filters really should be changed maybe around 4-5 months instead. The signs of it needed changing
is when the water flow seems slower and the stream is not as forceful as normal. They are very
easy to remove and replace in my Frigidaire side by side. When I saw how much Lowes wanted for
the same filters, I decided to purchase these on Amazon from a trusted seller.
I highly recommend these filters for general water filtering.
If you want a special filter that removes all chemicals including Fluorine, be prepared to
spend a lot more.

Frigidaire PureSource II Water Filter 2 Pack Review

The replacement info isn't detailed enough to ensure this is the correct filter for our Frigidaire refrigerator. When I replace the filter last time with this one, it came out strong, but then went down to a trickle pretty quickly. This time, after replacing the filter with a new one, it came out only as a trickle, taking up to 2 minutes to fill an8-oz. glass of water. I think the size is off my a very small amount, or it gets filled up too easily with sediment to work properly. I'll pass on the cost savings and buy the manufacturer's replacement part so I can get water in a reasonable amount of time.

Whirlpool/Kenmore Deluxe Water Filter (4396508-3pack) Review

These are the standard filters used in many refrigerators like my Whirlpool. They filter all the water used in the ice maker and the in-door water dispenser just as you would expect them to do.

The 3-pack of these is a great maoney saving costing only about $5 more than buying two of them individually.

They only rate about a 4 in the star system because they never last as long as Whirlpool says they should. The owner's manual says about 5-6 months with the sort of use we put them to, and the "change me" light comes on at about the 5 month time, and the water flow through begins to diminish about the same time. But, changing the filter at the 4-month point keeps the water taste top notch. Waiting that extra month or so gives you water that isn't as clean tasting.

Ah, well. At least you save money buying in bulk.

But sad part is, the item i received does not match the description and illustration
given. I got dual-element heater. The description and illustration are for a different heater single-element
heater (look at the illustration). I called amazon and i got a good response from them. They requested to me to contact seller and give them the details. I am waiting for the seller's response.

Pretty much the same price you'll pay at Lowe's or other stores but you get the convenience of having them delivered. Can't beat it. The filters themselves seem to work well. GE says to replace them every 6 months but I wait until the light comes on to tell me to switch them out. I think I've replaced them twice in 3 years so I use them longer than 6 months which is good considering the price!

GE SmartWater Refrigerator Water Filter GXRLQR Home Improvement Review

This filter seems to work well & has improved the water quality of some very iron tasting water. We have it installed on the water line that supplies the drinking water faucet & refrigerator ice maker.We put it in the basement so it's easy to access/change the filter.

Update 12/09:We also use this filter in our primary home for the water line supplying the refrigerator.This house has a very different water issue: hard water.We previously used a Brita filter/pitcher for making coffee/tea because it stopped hard water deposits from forming in our pot.But that system was so slow & took space in the refrigerator so we switched to this filter.Unfortunately, it does not remove the hard water/lime.So the pot has to be "delimed" regularly.Also doesn't stop the buildup of lime in the refrigerator ice maker/water dispenser.

Was not happy w/the way this was packaged for shipping.There was no filler around the filter boxes (c'mon, who doesn't have a little newspaper or something around to use in packing???). So the filters rattled around the box & 2 (of 3) were out of the product packaging.Luckily, it doesn't appear that they were damaged but will consider another company to order these from next time.

GE/Kenmore SmartWater Filter Adapter (GWFADAPTER) Review

Consumers BEWARE! The GE Smartwater GWF filter is not a replacement for the old 'Culligan' FXRC metal filter. Despite the available adapter, the new Smartwater GWF filter was designed for a newer 'high-pressure' system installed in GE refrigerators manufactured after 2001. On the older models using normal water pressure [mine is a GE Performance Profile] these filters do not work. They will seem fine at first, only to run to a trickle in less than a month. I burned through several of these at @ $40.00 each until I discovered the problem.

With millions of wasted filters and dollars at stake, GE refuses to acknowledge the problem.I was told to find a technician at my expense. GE refused to replace the filters with a properly designed compatible model.

If you are replacing a Water by Culligan filter (FXRC, FXRT, MXRC or HXRT), WR97X10006, or Kenmore part number 46-9905 for the first time, you will need to purchase this adapter in addition to the GWF filter. The adapter attaches to the top of the GWF filter prior to installation. The next time you replace the filter, the adapter will stay connected to the refrigerator, so you won't need to buy another one.
